Chief Data Scientist

Overview:

The Chief Data Scientist is responsible for leading the development and implementation of data science strategies and solutions to meet the business needs of the organization. The Chief Data Scientist oversees the data science team, manages the technical aspects of data science projects, and collaborates with other business units to ensure that data science solutions meet business requirements. The Chief Data Scientist must have a strong technical background in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, along with exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the organization's data science strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
• Manage the data science team and provide leadership to data scientists and machine learning engineers
• Collaborate with other business units to identify data science needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
• Ensure that data science solutions are properly designed, implemented, and maintained to meet business needs and comply with industry regulations
• Stay current with data science trends and developments, and evaluate emerging technologies for potential use in the organization
• Develop and monitor data science budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, clients, and other business units
• Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the organization's data assets
• Ensure the security and privacy of the organization's data assets and compliance with relevant regulations
• Provide guidance and support to end-users and other stakeholders regarding the use of data science solutions

Requirements:

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior data science management role
• In-depth knowledge of data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence principles, practices, and technologies
• Experience managing and leading data science teams
• Strong technical skills in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of data security and privacy regulations and best practices
• Relevant industry certifications, such as CDS, CCP-DS, or MCSE: Data Management and Analytics
